Hurricane Dennis Nearing Jamaica.
Sitting here, working late on a design for a network, I have the television on and I caught an announcement - at 1:35 a.m. - telling Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) Markers (People who grade examinations given by CXC) that the trip to Jamaica has been cancelled because of the impending storm. It's interesting that I was informed by a message that probably missed the people it was intended for. 1:35 a.m.?!
Storm? So, I did a quick Google and found out that Hurricane Dennis Nears Jamaica. Jamaica, Haiti and Cuba are keeping an eye on the first Hurricane of 2005... with Hurricane Ivan's devastation easily remembered in 2004.
Here's a link to the NOAA stormtracker for Hurricanes Cindy and Dennis.
If anyone is interested, I'm offering blogging ability here for people in the region so that people can get word out in case of emergency - if they can get an internet connection.
As a sidenote, someone understands how to use Google rank: Jamaica Storm gives Jamaica Storm and Windows. That's good business, and shows that someone has a clue. Or accidentally found one. I'm sure everyone in Jamaica will be lining up to get storm windows...
