Support Creative Commons
...and since I'm already writing about donating, here's another thing that is near and dear to me: Creative Commons.
That shirt on the right? It's mine. I donated to Creative Commons- a small $50 donation - not for the t-shirt but because over the years, Creative Commons has become an invaluable resource for myself and others. It allows me to share my work with others without a murder of lawyers involved. It allows others to remix what I do in new and creative ways, which I am happy to say has happened a few times.
It allows me to use images and content from my fellow supporters of Creative Commons, which I've had the pleasure of doing more than a few times. It's gotten me connected with a vibrantly creative community that is happy to... share.
If you use Creative Commons licensing as a creator, a user or a remixer - drop a few dollars to support the people who created and continue to expand our vast playground of content, a reinvention of the public domain.
It's not hard to do.
