PayPal Redux

After writing about PayPal's Insensitivity to it's customers - which I sent to PayPal through the webform - something rather interesting happened. At about 10:30 p.m. last night, my PayPal account suddenly was restored without explanation and with an apology for the inconvenience. Gee, thanks.

Did I upload anything? No (though I had tried in the past).

Did I fax anything? No.

Did I email anything? No.

Did I actually correspond with anyone at PayPal in anything remotely resembling a conversation? No.

All I had was all my previous correspondence with them. Apparently they found the time, pieced it all together and made sense of it to get my account access back.

I started the process for transferring my money to my bank account this morning. After all, next month I could run into the same thing.

Lessons learned:

  • Blog earlier.
  • PayPal will go to great lengths to avoid discussion.
  • Trust PayPal as much as I would any Second Life business.
  • Linden Lab has better customer service than PayPal...
