Ruddy Ground-Dove (Columbina talpacoti)

Where other birds fly to and fro most of the time, these birds are fairly stationary and only disappear when feeding - happily roosting in numbers which range from 2 to 20. Their early morning call, a very loud cur-WOOH, is probably the most noteworthy thing about the bird to me. They sleep in the tree at the front of the house, and are always pleased to tell everyone when the sun is up with unusually loud calls that do not fit well with the size of the 15 cm birds.
I don't feed them except on occasion, but since the neighbors do feed the seed birds it is quite likely that this is the reason that they are here all the time. I've been considering seed feeding as well and may start doing that regularly as well.
The difficulty lies in feeding the seed eaters where the insect eaters are hunting - air traffic control may become an issue, especially when I see upwards of 30 birds in an area at a time.
