House Wren (Troglodytes Aedon)

Intimate moment with a House Wren (Trogodytes aedon)

The House Wren, also known as the 'House Bird', is usually easy to spot on wires and so forth - but most of the time can only be seen when it trills loudly; its camouflage would otherwise keep it unseen. They do their part by trying to keep the insect population down.

I believe that the local House Wrens are Troglodytes aedon musculus, but have not had enough images and descriptions for a good differential.

Since these birds nest in areas created by humans, such as eaves, they too will probably be around for some time. They do not come to the feeder, but they will happily hop along below it finding what insects that they may.
