Make Your Own... MP3 Player

Not an iPod, but you can make your own MP3 player.

The is used - $115 worth of integration glee:

...Daisy's audio quality is as good as an iPod, can access 65,000 tracks, play 48khz WAV files as well as mp3s, and unlike an iPod, you can change the battery.

But the really Big Idea behind the Daisy is the ease with which it interfaces with so many devices. Yes, even including the Make Controller. It is the perfect MP3 kit for Makers, for it easily integrates with kiosks, displays, art installations, or just about anything else the maker community can dream up...

Sure, you can buy your own. Many people like to do that. There are some, though, who enjoy putting stuff together - and this is for those people. There is little that the MP3 player couldn't be integrated in... just off the top of my head:

  • Telephone - for your own hold music
  • Animated Sculptures
  • Low power car MP3 player
  • Solar powered MP3 player

If you like seeing pictures of Mt. Everest, this isn't for you. This is for the people who climb to experience it for themselves.

Now, can it play ogg? Ahh...
