Spam For Linden Dollars?

Hippie Pay

So - I see this event - 'Free Money - Free Lindens - Hippiepay'. I glance over it. I automatically think 'email harvesting' - I am somewhat jaded about things that are 'free'.

I zip in world to check it out (Jeongam (136, 120). It looks like it could be legitimate(but I won't offer up my email address, sorry) , so I reread the article:

...You do not have to do ANYTHING for most of the offers besides provide your E-mail address or Zip code into each one of our offers, and that is it! Some other offers will require you to fill out surveys. Some other ones will have you sign up for trial offers; however a credit card is never required.

I don't know. I've always had a problem with surveys that have to pay people to take them - and the kind of results paid surveys generate. It is sort of interesting to see such things migrate from mail to email/internet to SecondLife. The lure of easy money is hard to moves past for many people, and this might be useful for some to get a start in SecondLife... so I can't be too judgemental about it.

If anyone actually has used this, I would love to hear some feedback. I'm not going to try it. I get enough junk mail.

Hippy Pay and when not to do it

I see these things mostly in the sandboxes. This is a big no-no!!! NO commercial activity in the sandbox. I often see these things LITTERING the landscape. They're not acceptable at all but if someone HAS to put it, one will do just as well as 1 dozen. But anyway, I see one of these things and I box it up.

Didn't realize they were everywhere.

My biggest problem are the 16m plot people, and I've been known to do the same.

On the nose about email

On the nose about email harvesting, and phone numbers btw. That's exactly what they are. I won't touch em either. I've read that the phone calls started on the day someone filled out a survey.. in fact, they didn't even fill it out all the way, got 10 mins into it and aborted. Still got spammed to high heaven.

I use them and they pay

I use them and they pay great, better than sitting in camping chairs which lags linden lab's servers. All you need is a secondary E-mail address, I would not recommend using your main E-mail address (DUH). Everyone I have talked to have had great experiences with hippiepay, and their affiliate program is the highest paying in SL.

They Pay, But they spam

I used hippie pay one time and i made around 1000 LS. It seemed worth it, but it left my emails full of junk. I only recieved a couple phone calls for offers for about a week, After that, they stopped calling. I unsubscribed my secondary emails from the offers, but the spam didnt stop.

SL and Hippie Pay

These things are a trap and should not be used! I recived on average about 500L for one day of surveys and i return i got on average 1000 -mails a day and people calling me all times of the day from blocked numbers waning to sell me stuff. These things are a joke sure they do pay but in return it's just not worth the headache. Giving false information will get yu banned so you have no choice except to fill it out or lie and never be able to do it again. These spam companies and just exploiting a service in second life by bribing people with Lindens to meet there "quota" of people so they can continue the leap through the loop hole of the spam act set into place the the goverment of the united states. BEWARE OF HIDDEN COSTS!!!! never put your cell phone number for cell phone offers because when you get you cell bill you will have 9.99 charges for everytime you put your cell number into one of these offers.

hippie pay

I've used them all the time all you have to do is when you first sign up for hippie pay use phoney information but make sure you write down your fake identity/e-mail/phone # and you'll get rich without any of the bs at the end.. ! :-)

Better than Hippie??

Most of the newcomers at Second Life might have found out that your SL is NO fun without Linden L$. And next big challange is to earn those. There are a couple of broing ways to do so; dance pads, dollar trees, campings, sweep the floor, dance cages. Well.. Thats what I did when I started with second life, instantly started earning 1-3 Lindens for every 10 minutes. After a hard day's boring work I had close to 70 L$ in my pockets. What a pity!!

Hmmm. Then I started exploring other ways, and finally found a really good one. My pocket bulged with 900 l$ in just 3 hours. Yeah!! That's true. Try Earn2Life. They pay handsomely for joining their network. All you have to do is to install a toolbar and earn. And being a e-security personnel in my first life, I can guarantee that the toolbar is not malicious in any way. Just sign up, install and start earning like me.

I declawed your ad.

I'll look into it, but it sounds too much like a latenight advertorial.

Fed up of Hippiepay

I dont want spam either but I tried HippiePay. However, since I am from the Philippines and not from US, I only got 64L$ from HippiePay.

I never earned more than that until I created my site where I share to people where to earn free lindens. Some people even ridiculed me but some didn't and some who ridiculed me, converted to a believer and a subscriber.

Not available in my area

I'm a reporter writing an article on HippiePay, and I signed up for it using an alternative email address. I wanted to see if it really works, but unfortunately I can't do any of the surveys because I'm posting from Sweden and none of the offers are available in my area. I guess you can only take advantage of this (or let yourself be taken advantage of) if you're in the US or the UK.
