Searching for Land in SecondLife is Nuts

I've been looking around for some contiguous property within SecondLife - within certain guidelines - which has shown about a doubling of price in 512m lots. Kind of crazy, and an interesting economic bubble - people are pricing pretty high, and it seems across the board.

But that's not what this is about. Nope, this is about the search for land being obfuscated with all the land rentals being advertised. There's no way to deselect all the covenant spam.

And that's what it is to someone interested in purchasing land. It's spam. Of course, if you're looking to rent land - you might find what you want. But then, with people searching to find land to *buy*, I expect that a few people have been taken in by the low prices. And even then, a covenant might just be a direct lease.

Still, something needs to be done to clear up the search on land. It really is a mess, and after wandering a while I just... didn't bother. There are so many people flipping virtual land right now that some of them are going to have to lose money at some point, and the land rentals obfuscating potential sales for them will hurt them. Sure, some of them have websites - that's fine - but it's going to be relied upon more because land search is severely hosed.

As for me, I don't have a big itch to scratch on this. I can wait. I don't have money burning a hole in my wallet. What is interesting to me is that everyone was crying when prices went up on tier, but I'm not seeing any tears when it comes to the search for land sales being obfuscated by land rentals.

Maybe that's because people aren't buying land?
