Corey Lindens Town Hall Meeting for Developers
The SecondLife town hall meeting by Corey Linden has the first part of the transcript up.
The sim it is being held in and surrounding sims are packed, and despite a lot of unrelated chatter some interesting things have come up - such as Corley mentioning 2007 might be the year that SecondLife becomes open source. The text repeaters aren't working, so everything is somewhat chaotic with regular IMs from people saying that they aren't hearing anything in the group chat.
Talk of an internal browser (Firefox) also is interesting, though there are no apparent hooks right off the bat using Linden Scripting Language. Shucks. But there is potential there... there are security issues to look into with that as well, so that will be uphill.
Some good questions in here, and interesting answers (despite people not understanding that this is a TECHNICAL town hall). The amount of text spam from people acting out is... interesting.
Seriously, though, I think they would be better served with IRC than sim limited town halls. With over 18,000 concurrent users at a time, shoving 200 people on a sim border is kind of... hairy.
I'll post updates in the comments for further transcript information, etc.
