There is a difference between breaking a rule and encountering a situation where there is no rule and still doing the right thing. You should not need to study the rules of Wikipedia to know what to do. Ordinary people of good will should know what to do.

Do not call somebody an idiot. Bite your tongue and try to be helpful. Those kinds of social norms in Wikipedia are probably what make it successful. We are human beings and we still fight.
