The song by Pink Floyd immediately comes to mind - 'Another Brick In The Wall'.
Hey! Teachers!
Leave those kids alone...
It's an appropriate title for an article about Minimally Invasive Education, and the experiment itself is appropriately named - The "Hole-In-The-Wall". And the concept is so simple that it stands on it's own.
Put a computer where kids can use it. Leave them alone. That's it.
When you think about it, children learn best out of curiosity. If you make a child do something on a computer, it's work. When they get to do it on their own - it's play. And we humans learn a lot from play.
What's amazing, though, is that someone thought of this - someone did it, at a bunch of sites in India - and it's been working: they've been documenting it on the site. Extremely worthwhile to parents and educators.
