Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime Being Interviewed by Adam Reuters in SecondLife
Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime popped into SecondLife and gave an interview with Adam Reuters. The sound fun pre-interview was fun to listen to, and once the interview started the discussion quickly went to Nintendo Wii.
A nexus between the SecondLife residents and Niintendo users was indicated by Adam, and was apparent in the turnout - complete with Reggie flags. The interview was done in audio, so text chat was mainly the audience.
Hacking the Wii is generally discouraged - such as, probably, the Building Your Own Wireless Wii Sensor Bar. Comments on people's controllers flying out of their hands were also redirected to common sense (wipe your hands when they are sweaty, silly).
Adam also brought up thoughts on usability; that many people with disabilities enjoyed their freedom of movement within SecondLife and wondered if Nintendo had plans along those lines - and the answer was yes.
A few people didn't get questions in due to time constraints. I, for one, was going to ask about Linux and Nintendo, as I blogged before.
All in all, it was... ok. It was nice of Reggie to show up, and it was very cool that Reuters held the interview within SecondLife. The issue of time really put a damper on things, but since there is also an update today (update Wednesday), it stands to reason that this may also have been a factor.
Audio may be made available, I'm not sure. A transcript would be useful as well.
Some other bloggers were there, and I'm sure Adam will write about it - links will be added within the comments as they turn up.
More pictures which I took are available here, and judging by the camera sounds, quite a few more will be available through other people.
