Well, the underlying code changes I snuck in on everyone worked. So my heart has returned to it's normal pace of about 60 beats per minute and is no longer trying to climb out of my throat, and the stuff seems to be working...
The trouble with doing things like that is everything seems to always work 'better', only because when you do the upgrade you expect it to do better.
You'll note a few other things have changed. The calendar has returned, though I'll have to hack that into something more visually appealing. The megaton of links that were on the right have been replaced by Grazr feeds. Why? The rationale is that they save valuable real estate on a page; the truth is that I just really liked it when I was visiting Mathew Ingram.
Most of the underlying code changes are done - congratulations, in the spirit of Microsoft you're a beta tester! Over the next few weeks I will be focusing on usability (the navigation menu is a bit of a drag) as well as cosmetics.
If you find anything broken, please let me know.
