In The Dominican Republic - and Jamaica Tomorrow.
For those of you who have been emailing me as to my status - I haven't responded because I do not yet have bandwidth (internet access for you non-geeks) at home. I am fairly settled, with the coffee pot in the right place - but through the kindness of the people here at FUNREDES, I am using their network during business hours. Thank you, FUNREDES.
I have arrived in good condition - all limbs are intact. I was unbelievably tired (muy cansado) after this last bout of travel, so I have rested and returned to my home: The internet. It's like a living version of the television show, 'Cheers' - everyone knows your name.
So everyone - thank you for your interest.
In other news, I now *finally* have the itinerary for my trip to Jamaica. I leave tomorrow to attend the Caribbean Linux and Open Source Foundation meeting. How odd that they are playing with Mambo Server when everyone will be going to their page...
When I return, I'll hopefully have found out when I'll be going to Costa Rica, if at all. These last minute travel arrangements are horrendous and disruptive. It happens now and then, but twice in one month is a lot.
In other news, my girlfriend told me she was proud of me yesterday because I managed to have lunch with her, her Mother and Uncle and spoke proper Spanish the entire time.
5 days in the D.R., and I'm past single word responses. In a few more months I might even be able to start conversations. :-)
