Cafe Bohemia, St. Petersburg, Florida
As I discussed earlier, coffee shops with wireless access are telecenters. And I'm sitting in one right now, with a triple cafe latte and a laptop propped up.
Here in St. Petersburg, Florida, there are quite a few real coffee shops, and I'm happy to report that some have wireless. Cafe Bohemia is one such. I don't have the exact address, but it's located on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg - very near Tropicana Field. Hopefully someone from the shop gives the full contact information in the comments (hint, hint).
I stopped by here yesterday, but I'd screwed up my wireless settings. I have them working now - but yesterday I had a wonderfully messy croissant sandwich with eggs and swiss cheese and ham and a triple something-or-the-other.
The shop has quite a few books worth perusing as well. It's not Barnes & Noble, but it has the books you can't find in Barnes and Noble. The coffee is good, the wireless works - and the folks are friendly.
There's also an interesting menu of sandwiches - named by the character of taste. Check it out for yourself.
There's a nice patio - bordering on Spanish style - where I am sitting, and allows those who smoke to do so, weather permitting (there are umbrellas over the tables for the rainy days). There are quite a few things that happen here according to my mother, and if you're interested in live music or poetry, this is a definite stop according to the poet community.
The sticker on the register is worth reading. But you'd have to be here. :-)
This place has character. I highly recommend Cafe Bohemia as a stopping point in the St. Petersburg, Florida region. Go check out the Salvador Dali museum nearby as well.
And no, I didn't get a free cup of coffee out of this. :-)
