Democracy Vs. Patents

In an interesting twist, the Dutch Parliament is considering revocation of support for the EU Patent directive. Special thanks to WorldChanging.com for catching that in my absence!
It looks like Democracy is alive and well in the Netherlands, but is that only because someone knew someone within the Dutch Parliament? Probably. But that's as it should be. People should be comfortable with their representatives.
