Email Disaster Relief; Ippimail Officially Launched
Back when I was writing with the WorldChanging.com team, I ran across Ippimail - a means of funneling funds (simply by using email) to disaster relief agencies and other charities before an actual emergency took place. At the same time, I mentioned it on LinuxGazette.com.
A lot has changed for me since then - I write for neither WorldChanging.com and I'm not associated with LinuxGazette.com. Ippimail changed too. It's officially released. It's faster to sign up. Charities like Save the Children, Born Free, Terrence Higgins Trust, Turning Point, Suzy Lamplugh Trust, Breast Cancer Care (take a look, Irina!), Muscular Dystrophy Group and National Missing Persons Helpline - as well as other NGOs - have signed up.
It was a good idea last year - it remains a good idea this year, and it's gathering support. Perhaps you should consider adding your support by using the no cost service that is provided. Instead of donating when there are emergencies, why not help ahead of time?
Get an Ippimail email address. Support the planet that smells your feet all day. :-)
