Birdcasting Effects On Birds.
I was pretty surprised about how popular Birdcasting was. It was sort of lazy inspiration: OK, so I don't podcast, but you can listen to the birds do it for me...
The birds, from the comments, had a lot of attention from pet owners. So I tried an experiment with the recorded sounds from this morning. I played them back to the birds this evening. It was so cool... I can't even tell you how cool it was. They started their own little party around the house - except the Kiskedees, who didn't seem to like hearing themselves at a much louder volume.
The neighbours didn't know what to think, and I think the rooster may be confused. He made his morning sound once, considered the sun, decided something was wrong, and was last seen staring intently at the ground in search for an answer to life, the universe, and everything. An audio mirror may have the rooster combing his voice... hehe...
The tanagers came right up to the house, though. Apparently there were a few mating call sounds in there, or they were as glad to hear themselves as a blogger who checks Technorati all the time to see who is linking to them. They were whistling away, revitalized by the same songs they were singing this morning.
Sort of like aggregator websites. Hmm. Maybe these birds will teach me about blogging. That would be interesting. I could start a bird meme... BirdcastingBeta!! :-P
Anyways... thought a few people might get a kick out of the fact that the birds enjoyed hearing themselves.
