Fresh Irish Perspective: The role of technology in schools today

Apparently, there is a class in Ireland where teachers are learning more about weblogs and so forth - ReginasBlog seems to be a brand new (as in today) weblog dealing with education and technology, written from Galway. From Regina's first post:

My experience with educational technology in this class has been quite positive and interesting. It has also been a learning experience, as prior to the commencement of this class I had very little exposure to this genre of technology apart from what I would have used in language labs. I feel my confidence and capabilities regarding educational technology have increased ten fold over the past few months and I feel very happy about this progression. Technology may not play a major role in Irish education at this moment in time, however I believe this will change within the next few years. Education must evolve so that the needs of our students and society as a whole can be met.

It might be worth keeping an eye on. It's not very often one gets to see a new blog start.

When it comes to ICT, Trinidad and Tobago often looks to advancements in Ireland (or claims to} since they somehow see some parallels. I always think Bermuda would make a better comparison...
