@TTOC Steups!

I think it's fair to say that our past successes in the Olympics have not been because of the government and the TTFF. They have been DESPITE them. I remember the story of Ato Boldon's mother having to sew up his olympic running uniform in 1996. And how much of George Bovell's bronze medal success was due to the TTOC help and funding?

I think it's best summed up by Minister of Sport, Gary Hunt speaking earlier this year and saying that measures will be put into place in order to maximize our chance of success in the Beijing Olympics. What Mr. Hunt fails to realise is that success comes with over 10 years of preparation, and instituting facilities and programmes with the youth. Look at Serbia and their successful tennis players - that wasn't achieved overnight (or in half a year).

And while I'm rambling, I hate all this "all citizens have a part to play" crap. No, TTOC, it really IS all up to you. Nice of them to tell us what's wrong - but what's the solution? When I see the answer to that on the TTOC, I'll throw a fete...
